Contest Update

We have received several contest entries so far. Some people have sent their guess via email so that they don't give hints to others. So far, the best score has been 7 correct out of 8.

We haven't done a contest since Halloween, so it's time for a new one. The following is a list of words, as pronounced by Sadie. The person who can most accurately translate the list will win a fabulous prize! Contest will end on Wednesday.

Oral hygiene and so much more

Sadie really loves brushing her teeth or perhaps she loves the sweet and fruity Orajel Toddler Training Toothpaste that is slathered on the toothbrush. We generally do the first brushing to make sure the teeth actually get clean, and then Sadie finishes up. She currently has 4 teeth on top, 3 teeth on the bottom and 1 bottom molar.



Weekend activities:
We went to the Montshire Museum on Saturday with friends Aili and Ava and their mom Laurie, but since it was raining and Martin Luther King Jr. weekend, it was the most crowded I have ever seen it and we didn't stay too long.
We had friends over to watch the Patriots on Saturday night. They didn't win and Daddy was very upset.
On Sunday, we drove down to Cambridge, MA to visit with Grandma and Grandpa. Mommy, Grandma and Sadie took a very cold walk around Harvard Square. Sadie enjoyed her dinner at Legal Seafoods (she shared Daddy's clam chowder and had her own dish of macaroni and cheese) and she slept over in Grandma and Grandpa's hotel room and loved it. It was nice for Mommy and Daddy too.
Today, we got to visit Auntie Kara and see her new condo. It is very nice. Nana was visiting Kara, so we got to see Nana as well. On the way back, we stopped at the Mall of New Hampshire and Sadie and Daddy took a merry-go-round ride. It was Sadie's first one and she sort of liked it and sort of looked nervous.



So, Delurking Week is now officially over, but we loved having so many comments last week. Thanks!

New word

Sadie has another new word. It is baahl (ie, ball). We heard it for the first time last night and she woke up today and the first thing she did once I got her out of the crib was pick up her little stuffed soccer ball and announce, "Baahl!"

Beth's Request

Beth asked to see Sadie doing her "Sleep, Sadie" trick.

This is a variation, because usually, she'll lay down when you tell her "sleep", but here she just put her head down on the couch. It's cute anyway.

Jacob's Request

Jacob asked if Sadie was old enough to type her own blog entry. Not yet. But here's Sadie practicing her computer skills on Daddy's laptop.

Matthew's Request

Sadie's friend in England, Matthew, requested pictures of Sadie eating pasta and fruit. Here, Sadie enjoys a plateful of Annie's Organic D.W. Whole Wheat Pasta and Alfredo Sauce (Matthew, D.W. is a little girl anteater from a children's cartoon program in the US). Sadie enjoys this easy to prepare meal and the pasta shapes are easy to pick up. These pictures were taken tonight.

Aunt Jenny's Request

Here's a picture of Sadie dancing while we all sang "Happy Birthday" to her friend Esme at a party last weekend. As a bonus, Aunt Jenny, she is wearing the shirt you gave her.

Sadie is doing so many new things lately. It's amazing to watch her change so quickly. Her language skills in particular are growing. She understands what we say to her and responds. One favorite activity is looking at a book illustrated with photos of real items and pointing to things as we name them. She especially likes to point to the baby, the dog and the cookie.

Some new words that Sadie says:
Uh Oh
Daw (meaning dog)
Cook (meaning cookie)

Another new trick is "sleep"...if we say, "Sleep, Sadie", she immediately lays her head down on the nearest surface and says
aaaah. Too cute.

The Plan with The Tiger

Sadie and Nicholas make a plan.

Sadie had an excellent time at playgroup today, which was followed by nap that is now heading into it's third hour.

Getting Bigger

Here are Sadie's current stats:

Height: 30.5" (77.5cm)
Weight: 22lbs. (10kg)

For the record, that is a 50% increase in height and almost a 200% increase in weight since birth! On the other hand, she has about the same amount of hair.
