Baby's First Beerfest

This weekend Ann and I took Sadie to Boston for the BeerAdvocate.com Extreme Beer Fest. We all had a great time! I'll let Ann fill you all in on the details of all of the friends we saw outside of the festival in a later post.

Jokes told about Sadie at the beerfest by other attendees (each one ad nauseum):
"She's had a few too many, huh?"
"Where's her wristband?"
"Does she have ID?"
"Does the baby have any extra tickets?"

We're all leaving today and spending the weekend in Boston. I can't wait! Mommy needs some city life big time.

Snow makes me sleepy

Sadie is a little too young for sledding, but we thought we should take her outside after the first real snowstorm of the year, mostly so she could wear her snowsuit at least once. She slept through the entire excursion, but I think that the idea of becoming a ski jumper seeped into her subconscious.

She's growing up...

The past 2 weeks have brought lots of changes for the Sade-ster. She growing so much and changing everyday. Some of her newborn clothes are starting to get tight. She has started enjoying some of her toys and actually looking at things around her other than light bulbs. A favorite activity is looking at mobiles, especially the one over her changing table.

She loves riding in the car, dancing with Daddy to tunes from the Ipod and kicking her legs. She is starting to like taking a bath, but I can't say she is loving it just yet.

Sadie had a great time at the Dartmouth vs. Harvard basketball game last weekend. She was awake and alert for almost the whole game and charmed everyone around her.

Here are some recent pictures of Sadie. The general consensus is that she looks like her Dad, but her eyes now seem like they are going to be blue, so she got something from her Mom.

Sadie finally figured out what to do when we are taking her picture. And it only took about 2000 tries to get it right! Now we can start working on the toilet training thing...

In CVS today...

Little Old Lady: What a cute boy. How old is he?
Me: It's a girl. She's one month.
Lady: What's his name?
Me: Sadie
Lady: Oh Jacob! That's a nice name. I love to see babies and mothers. Well, enjoy your son!
She walks away.

I know Sadie is bald, but she was wearing one of her most girly-girl outfits. I guess I'll just go enjoy my son for now.
