Sadie's First Christmas

Here is an album of pictures from Sadie's first Christmas. The three of us had a great time visiting with family and friends and Ann and I loved showing off our little treasure! We're looking forward to spending New Years' with Sadie's other doting grandparents.

Sadie and Santa

Sadie got to see Santa at the Microbiology/Immunology holiday party last night. He gave her a Baby Einstein book about farms, with vocabulary in English, Spanish and French. In the spirit of freedom, however, I'll be covering up the French. ;-)

Mommy and Daddy are so boring...

How come I'm not this cute when I yawn?

Waiting for European Fashion!

Sadie is spending day 13 of life enjoying the pretty snowfall and waiting for her Grandma and her Cool-Aunt-Jenny to arrive in the afternoon. Jenny has come back from London for her winter break and has a suitcase full of European baby fashions for her niece. Perhaps we'll be able to post some fashion show pics tonight.

Over the weekend, Sadie increased her large and fabulous collection of American fashion, thanks to a visit from Nana and Grampy from Concord. She also got her first wheels, as Nana and Grampy were kind enough to give Sadie her very spiffy Christmas stroller a little in advance of Christmas.

We have now gotten to know our post-woman and the UPS man quite well. They have been visiting almost everyday with packages for Sadie...she is certainly loved by many people, all across the country. So, thank you all for your generosity!

One Week Portrait

Here are some fun facts about Sadie's Birthday (December 2):

  • In 1915, Einstein published his theory of General Relativity.
  • In 1942, as part of the Manhattan Project, the worlds first self-sustaining nuclear reaction was started by Enrico Fermi.

This proves that Sadie will be a nuclear physicist. After all, Britney Spears was born on December 2, and we all know how she is a leader in the field.

Sadie is 1 week old!

Sadie is one week old today. She is busy doing all the typical baby things, like sleeping, eating and making dirty diapers. We think she is just amazing and perfect.

If you'd like to see a very cute picture of Sadie all dressed up to go to Fourth Trimester class this morning, email me. My in-box needs more activity so I can feel like I'm in contact with actual adults!

Could this be an omen?

My horoscope for today...

Libra:
"Fresh faces can come in your life now. Your daily routine will definitely be interrupted. Remain flexible. Go with the flow."

Sounds like a baby to me. Come on out, Baby!

Welcome!

Welcome to our baby blog!

Ann and I had our second childbirth class tonight. Fascinating stuff - I feel like having a baby is like becoming part of this secret society with its own lingo and hazing rituals and that everyone else who is going through it or went through it suddenly has a million things to tell you and you wonder I'm an educated guy, pretty close to the medical field in fact and why have I never heard all of this before?

Of course, I'm going to keep the secrets too. Let's just say the hazing involves ice.
