Daddy is 30!
Dear Daddy,
Happy Birthday! This is the third time I have celebrated my birthday with you. You are the best and most fun Daddy around and I love you so much! I like to play games with you, like building with Lego or blocks. Do you remember building the block tower and letting me stand on it? That was great! And I love to play pretend with you, especially when you pretend to be a doggie and I give you a bone. I also love it when you read me stories. Tiki Tiki Tembo is one of my favorites that you read. You are always sweet to me Daddy. I hope you have a great birthday!
Love and kisses,
Sadie

Quotable Sadie, again...
Sadie: Mommy has boobies, for nursing. And Daddy has nipples.
Ann: What are his nipples for?
Sadie (pauses to think): For nippling!
***
Sadie (playing with her fork and spoon at the table): My two pencils! Two pencils.
Dan: Those aren't pencils, Sadie.
Sadie: Yes! My two pencils.
Ann: No sweetie, that's a fork and a spoon.
Sadie: Two pencils!
Ann: Oh, you mean "utensils!"
Sadie (delighted expression): Yes, you pencils.
***
Sadie: I'm a bird. I'm in an egg! I'm out of the shell. I'm a birdie. My little birdie in my belly. Oh, she's out. Teeny tiny baby birdie. Hi baby! Wanna eat some eggs for dinner, baby birdie? I go back in the shell now. Hatch me, Mommy!
(Unrelated, but cute pic of Sadie relaxing by the pool in Florida...)

Great news!
Kristin and Doug are expecting a little friend for Sadie, due in September. We are so thrilled to hear this news. We'll be adding a link on the side for the Dutch Baby (I am going to call it Dutch Baby until I know the real name...and perhaps afterwards...)
I told Sadie and she asked, "Baby Samool in Kiss-tin's belly?"

Ariel's Grotto
This water playground was one of Sadie's favorites at the Magic Kingdom. She loved running around with other children and enjoying the water that sprayed from the fountains.
She got pretty wet, but it was nice and warm out so it felt good. It's a little hard to see, but on her blouse, she is wearing a Tinkerbell pin that was given to her by the concierge while we were checking into the hotel. They are so nice at Disney!
Sadie doesn't know the stories of Peter Pan or Beauty and the Beast, so she is little confused about Tinkerbell and Belle.
"Belle, she's Tinkah-bell's mommy?"
"This the little Belle, where's a big lady Belle?"

"I was a cup!"
On our first day at the Magic Kingdom, Sadie was chosen from the audience to participate in Belle's Story Time, a short retelling of "Beauty and the Beast". She hadn't heard that story or seen the movie, but she was happy to go participate on stage.
Here she is in her costume, as Chip, the little teacup. After being in the show, Sadie told us several times, "I was a cup!".

Dumbo!
Sadie and Daddy await the take-off of the Dumbo ride. Sadie loved riding Dumbo, although she hated the nearly 40 minute wait. Later in the trip, we were thrilled to find a similar ride in Dino-Land at Animal Kingdom that was much less busy. Since the lines were minimal, Sadie got to ride it 6 times!

We're home!
We're back and we had a great time. Lots of details and some pictures will follow in a later post, once I unpack the camera and actually download the pics...and do a zillion loads of laundry, etc., etc.

We're off to see the Mouse...
Sadie avoids packing for Disney by hiding her head in a Lego tub...but Mommy and Daddy managed to get it all organized.
2 pieces of luggage to be checked
3 carry-on bags
1 stroller
It's all ready to go...tomorrow we'll all go to work/daycare/the lab and then head to Boston to catch an EARLY morning flight to Orlando on Thursday.

Squeaky Clean
This picture is actually from a week or so ago, but it's too cute not to post.
We're busy getting ready for our trip to DisneyWorld later this week. We've been getting a lot of tips about what's good for toddlers and what's not. Everyone who's taken a kid Sadie's age has said that they loved it. We're excited to see Sadie take it all in. Wish us luck on the airplane, though!
